What are Instagram Reels?

Instagram Reels are a great way to showcase your best photos in a fun and engaging way.

They’re easy to make and can be customized to fit your brand. Plus, they’re a great way to get your followers excited about your latest posts and keep them updated on your latest photos.

Whether you’re a photographer, graphic designer, or artist, you can do a few things to make your Instagram Reels look better and more engaging.

How To Make a Reel On Instagram

Here are 4 easy steps on how to make your Instagram Reels and post them into your feed.

Plan Your Content

To get started, you should ask yourself about your video topics.

What kind of topics will you focus on? How will the content of your Reels fit in with the posts and stories on your Instagram feed? What kind of content will appeal to your target audience?

After that, spend some time looking through the app to see if there are any visuals, text, trends, or aesthetics that you could use as inspiration.

Storyboard your content by breaking down the clips you need to shoot to make the concept work once you have a solid understanding of your direction.

This way, you’ll be able to see how your Reels will look and have a clear strategy.

Record Your Reel

So to create Reels, there are a few ways you can access them.

You can swipe across from the left and see that we’re now in the Instagram camera.

Down the bottom, you’ve got the option for Reels, and selecting that will allow you to make Reels.

If you select the dedicated Reels button down the bottom middle of the screen, then you’ve got the camera button in the top right-hand corner if you press that. It’s gonna take you to the same place.

Now, the first thing you want to set is your video length. So we can see that here on the side, and you have got the option of 15 seconds, 30 seconds, or 60 seconds. Now, even if you select 60 seconds, start recording your video, and you’re not maxing it out. It’s under 60 seconds. Then it’ll crop that down for you.

Pro Tip: So you’re better off selecting 60 seconds here instead of, say, 30 seconds and then running out of time to finish your video.

Edit and Add Effects

Now, if you want to add music and match your recording to the music, then you can select the music here.

You can select a lot of popular music tracks here, you can search for them up the top there as well, and you can then select the section of the music track that you want to include.

If we press on that, we can choose the different recording speeds.

You can record a video and have it play back in slow motion, or you can even use this to get a bit tricky and record your movements in slow motion and have them play back in real-time.

You can see some of those Reels that are perfectly timed to music or perfectly timed dance moves. This is how it’s done.

Down below, you’ve got all your filters and effects that you can add on.

Post Your Reel!

Now it’s time to post. Do not forget to add the cover you like from the video, so it will appear in your Reels section and on your Instagram feed. Or you can also upload a picture from your camera roll, and use it as a cover for your Reel.

5 Top Tips For Creating Instagram Reels

So if you are struggling with your Instagram Reels views, that’s fine because, in this article, I will give you some tips for how to increase your Reels views or the number of video plays.

  1. Create an Exceptional Hook

Make use of a catchy opening. A Reel only has a few seconds to captivate the viewer. Users will quickly scroll if the beginning isn’t good enough. Present important and straightforward information at the beginning to keep the audience’s attention. Staying with the beat setting of the clip can also be tempting.

  1. Add Branding Elements

Include elements of your branding in your Reel. Your video can effectively promote your brand by including information about it. Make your brand more known to the audience. You can make videos related to your brand’s colors and place your company logo in the upper right corner of the video. You can include the name of your business in your title.

  1. Create Fun OG Content

First, make sure your images are high-quality and well-composed. Shooting in natural light is always a good idea, giving your images a warmer, more natural look. If you want to add a bit of creativity to your Reel, try shooting with a blurred or abstract background.

  1. Use Trending Audio

Music makes everything better. People are more likely to connect with viral pop music, make them stop swiping their fingers, and watch your Reel.

  1. Try A CTA

To increase engagement with your audience, include a call to action in your video, such as clicking on a link in your profile, following your account, or viewing additional content.
