It’s almost April, and YouTube’s TikTok-like Shorts have rolled out in the US.
We all know how famous and successful TikTok got the last 365 days and that’s why multiple social networks are creating lookalike features. People are literally in love with the way they can achieve their goals and target their audience.
After the TikTok blow-up, Instagram released its own lookalike feature, called Reels. And we have to admit that they’ve been a huge success per many small businesses. Even though there are tons of differences between the two, IG is still advancing Reels.
Here’s a list of Top 5 Advantages TikTok has over Reels.
First, Shorts are only available on mobile phones – meaning they can be created using a mobile-only.
YouTube is all about videos, we already know that. According to Oberlo, YouTube has over 2.3 billion active users, over 1 billion hours of videos are watched every day, and 62% of businesses use YouTube as a channel to post video content.
Also, it has already launched eCommerce features that come in handy for many users!
So here we go, now we have short and high-quality content that will shape user’s online experience.
At the moment, YouTube Shorts are only available in India and the US, and its features are simple. It is going to have more modern and useful features in the future. Every artist and creator is excited and looking forward to using Shorts as a way to promote their work.
According to YouTube, Shorts are 15 seconds or less, and there 3 areas that the team is more focusing on:
1. Create (multi-segment camera; record with music; speed control; a timer, and countdown).
2. Get discovered
3. Watch (allows you to swipe vertically)
Who’s excited to explore the new Shorts? We’re also located outside the US, so we have to wait – at least we know it’s worth it!
