YouTube Studio

If you want to be successful and get views, you can’t do what YouTubers did five years ago and expect the same results.

Many strategies that “YouTube gurus” are teaching don’t work anymore.

Unfortunately, many people are still using methods that don’t really move the needle. So, how can you achieve success on YouTube in 2023?

Today we are going to talk about YouTube Studio or also called YouTube Creator Studio.

How you can profit from it, grow your business and have a massive impact on the success of your channel.

Let’s get started!

What is YouTube Studio

The YouTube Studio platform was introduced in 2018, and it is mainly designed to help creators manage their channels and content.

YouTube Studio has tons of features like a personalized dashboard, better analytics, and more real-time metrics. Also helps creators can easily produce videos, manage playlists, and edit videos for the best quality and most engaging experience.

The Studio will offer features such as managing playlists, editing videos for the best quality and most engaging experience and producing videos from start to finish in one place.

The features are grouped into three main sections: Community, Video, and Monetization.

You can try out these features today by going to Studio. See below how to do that.

YouTube Studio has a completely different layout from regular YouTube, and you can easily switch between the two.

There is also a mobile version of it. You can download it either from the App store or Google store.

YouTube Studio Dashboard

On the dashboard, you’ll get a high-level overview of recent activity on your channel.

You can see how your latest upload and community post are performing and can quickly jump into Analytics for more in-depth info.

You can also see a snapshot of your overall channel analytics, recent subscribers to your channel, and any channel violations you may have.

Let’s get more in detail.

Snapshots: You will be shown a comparison of your most recent video to your previous uploads from the same period of time. In the past, you had to independently calculate this data by getting it from a variety of sources.

Personalized Recommendations: You will be presented to Creator Academy content based on your channel’s particular requirements. You will be able to understand the reasons behind why some videos perform better than others in the future, which will allow you to modify your strategies for video production in the future.

News: This feature will provide you with YouTube’s most recent updates, making it simple for you to keep up with everything affecting the creator community. So, if the platform is experiencing an ongoing issue it will be surfaced via Known YouTube issues.

Optimizing Content

Before you even start to upload videos, do not forget to schedule them with Publer. It’s easy!  This way, you will have time to consider optimizing your content and plan ahead.

What should you consider before uploading your content:

Video Titles: Ensure your video title is keyword specific and emotionally relevant to your video. Using a keyword in your title really does help. So we recommend doing it. Use the title because it’s an emotional trigger. It’s a benefit that the viewers want.

Video Descriptions: It’s a second opportunity to include keywords and grab the viewer’s attention. Most video descriptions on YouTube are pretty short, which can hurt your video’s ability to rank in search. So instead, use a long description, including a strong intro (2-3 sentences), a detailed outline (150 words), and links to the website and social.

Video Thumbnails: Use a high-contrast thumbnail that stands out. Yes, even if it is a small image, it greatly impacts clicking on your video.

Pro Tip #1: First, use lots of contrast so the colors in your thumbnail clash as much as possible.

Pro Tip #2: Pro Tip #2: Secondly, use colors that stand out. So avoid YouTube colors such as red, white, and black. Instead, use colors such as green, blue, and yellow.

Video Tags: Don’t forget to add tags to your video! Create SEO Friendly video tags. Use 2-3 tags that include your target keywords.

Video Categories: Before you publish your YouTube videos you can label them to help with search and follow-up. If you’re publishing different kinds of videos on your channel, or if your videos belong to different playlists, you can add labels to each of them, for easier identification and categorization.

Comments

The Comments page allows you to review, filter, moderate, and reply to comments on your videos.

Click on comments, and it will appear the most recent comments on your channel. Clicking on an individual comment will allow you to reply to that viewer or like or love the comment.

When you love a comment, that comment will go to the top of all the other comments, giving it more visibility and even more power. Moreover, the commenter will receive an email, and that means you will bring people back to your channel.

YouTube Studio Analytics

On the left, you can click on Analytics and it will appear a page with the options listed below:

  • Overview
  • Content
  • Audience
  • Research

Youtube studio analytics

This will give you information across your entire channel including watch time, views, and lots more.

Now, this is super helpful. The path to growing your channel is to really understand what’s happening in your individual videos.

Monetization

Monetizing your video on YouTube is not as hard as it used to be back in the day. But with YouTube Studio, things are way easier for creators by giving them more ways of monetizing their content. This includes enabling you to add ads at live events, adding in-video advertising, and many other options.

The only thing that you need to do is go to the Creator Studio and click on the “Monetize” button.

This page will provide you with a monetization overview along with individual tabs allowing you to deep-dive into specific revenue sources like merch, memberships, and more.

There are a couple of things you need to do before you can become a partner:

  • Have over 1,000 subscribers
  • Have more than 4,000 watch hours from the last 12 months
  • Live in a country where the partner program runs
  • Have no community strikes on your channel
  • Have a linked AdSense account

If you’re currently not monetizing, you’ll instead see a landing page detailing your eligibility status and, if applicable, your progress toward the YouTube Partner Program requirements.

Copyrights

Copyright issues may arise as your channel expands, such as people reposting your content without your permission. You can ask YouTube to remove the copyrighted videos from the platform in this case.
