Well, it’s no longer a rumor! The app has officially started rolling out to a limited number of users in Canada and Australia. This move confirms TikTok’s intentions to challenge Instagram’s photo-sharing dominance.
Reports suggest TikTok Notes offers a familiar experience, complete with photo grids, carousels, and an algorithmic feed.
While it’s still early days, TikTok Notes marks a significant step for the video-centric platform and could potentially lure new audiences and shake up the social media landscape.

And Here We Were Thinking Meta Was Only About Connecting People…
Social media is about to get a whole lot more interactive!
Meta has officially launched its AI chatbot, cleverly named Meta AI 🙄, across its platforms – Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
This means you can ditch the endless scrolling and chat directly with a (sophisticated) robot! 🤖
But before you get too excited about having a digital BFF, keep in mind Meta AI is currently focused on answering questions and completing simple tasks. Think of it as a super-powered search bar built right into your favorite apps.
Still, this is a significant step towards a more interactive social media experience. Who knows, maybe in the future you’ll be arguing with a chatbot about the latest meme or getting life advice from an AI (although, maybe stick to your human friends for that one).

Addicted Much? A Look at Countries Where Social Media Clearly Takes Priority
Scrolling social media feeds might be a global pastime, but screen time habits vary considerably by country.
According to a recent study done by data analysts at Electronics Hub, South Africans holds the crown for the highest average social media consumption, with users clocking in at over 3 hours and 41 minutes per day. This is significantly higher than the global average of 2h 15m. Other countries like Brazil (3h 37m), Philippines (3h 34m), and Chile (3h 22m) also show a strong social media presence.
Interestingly, the data suggests a potential link between social media usage and waking hours. (Infographic here)
For example, South Africans are also the biggest fans of looking at their phones, spending 31.72% of their waking hours on them (and using social media the most, too).
