This new feature will help pull real-time updates from your favorite websites. They’re a terrific way to keep your social media feed populated and always be sharing trending news.
Except for the manual scheduling/posting, RSS items can get scheduled and automatically shared once the news is out or based on a specific posting schedule that you set up.
All you need to do is name the new RSS Feed and attach the respective URL. There’s no limit on the number of RSS feeds you can add. Each team will have its own RSS Feeds Library, which they can switch with a single click.
As soon as you add a new RSS Feed, you will have to choose one of the following options:
You can add a new RSS feed URL and take no action. Keep all the RSS items organized, and decide to post or schedule them whenever. Meanwhile, Publer will pull any new RSS items as soon as they get posted on their original sites.
With the Auto Post option, every newly published item on the respective website will be automatically posted on one/any of the social networks you’ve previously selected. Decide whether you want to use the link titles or link descriptions as captions, and off you go.
Let’s suppose you want to publish every new article Publer posts automatically. You have already selected Facebook and Google My Business. Once you have a posted article on Publer’s blog, it will automatically get published on those two social accounts you’ve selected. Pretty smart and time-saving, right?
If you want to share the articles based on a specific posting schedule you’ve set up for your social accounts, then select Auto-Schedule. First, you need to select the social accounts and then the respective time slots you’ve previously created.
Simply select one or some of the RSS items that Publer pulled from the RSS Feed you added and decide to use/delete them.
You can either search for an RSS Feed or a specific RSS item.
And you can also Filter by Usage:
Select Used to filter the items that have already been scheduled (at least once). Otherwise, click on Unused to filter those who haven’t received any action yet.
From a business point of view, the RSS feed is important for quite some transparent reasons. It easily brings content to the reader, and that’s fairly enough!
The RSS feed URL sometimes is hard to find. Some people use the Page Source, and others simply use some tricks.
Medium: You can find your RSS feed by adding /feed/ before the article’s title. Like this: medium.com/feed/some-title
GoDaddy: You can find the RSS feed by writing the whole URL and adding ‘f.rss’ at the end. Like this: website.com/blog/f.rss
