AI, Twitter API, Threads App … what a crazy year this has been for Publer and the social media universe!
Let’s take a closer look at the milestones, challenges, and exciting plans for the future.
2023 Year In Review
The year kicked off with the launch of Publer AI, empowering social media managers to generate content & images and even rephrase or complete text. The AI assistant quickly became a favorite tool in crafting engaging posts.
Responding to the needs of agencies, we introduced a new dedicated role with a unique set of permissions for clients, thus making them part of the approval workflow.
Internal notes made it extremely easy to communicate with colleagues, get posts ready for publication on the go, or even throw someone under the bus.
All the above happened within the first quarter, and then Twitter API happened.
We had to pay $42,000 every month if we wanted to continue using their API.
My mind kept telling me no, but my guts said yes, so I decided to pay the recurring hefty price and continue supporting Twitter, initially only for paying customers and later for free users.
Unfortunately, the uncertainty of the Twitter API saga affected our internal dynamics, and we failed to deliver some of the core features planned for the second and third quarters.
To make up for the unkept promises, we focused on delivering minor updates with a high impact, such as two-factor authentication for top-notch security.
We added more post choices for social networks, including stories for Instagram and Facebook, PDF carousels for LinkedIn, product and collaborator tagging for Instagram, and direct posting for TikTok.
Things finally started to pick up again in the fourth quarter when we welcomed Mastodon to Publer and released the highlight of this year: dark mode. Seriously. Go try it, and you won’t go back to light mode ever again.
We’re wrapping up the year on a high note with three game-changing integrations: Threads, Twitter Long Posts, and Facebook Personal Profiles. These channels are gold for personal branding, but API limitations held back 3rd party apps—until now.
You can create, preview, and schedule all the above on your desktop. When the time comes, we will ping your phone with a reminder. A few taps later, your post is set and ready to be posted to your chosen social network.
It’s semi-automated magic—trust me, I’ve been using these for a month, and it doesn’t feel like manual work.
2023 By The Numbers
This year, we released over 20 major updates and tons of minor improvements across the web platform and mobile app!

marketing agencies, and global brands

We will continue launching valuable free social media tools that would benefit not only social media managers but also our marketing and SEO.

Along with the statistical numbers, we have continued to grow as a team and have already set the stage for an exciting 2024!

Plans for 2024
Having a niche is critical in the business game, but guess what? Publer’s not about sticking to just creators or agencies—too mainstream for us.
Going into 2024, our focus will continue on individuals aiming to build a personal brand and agencies managing other businesses’ social accounts.
We have even found a way for creators and agencies to connect and work together in Publer, but I won’t spoil this.
New analytics are almost ready. Besides a refreshed look, we will bring competitor and hashtag analytics. You will understand what’s working and what you can do better based on your data and your competitor’s insights.
Creators and influencers should also be very excited for 2024 as we will specifically focus a little bit more on growth tools. As you may know, posting on social media is not enough. Engaging with other people and brands is equally essential.
We will make it possible for you to find and engage with topics you’re interested in from across all social networks.
Imagine being able to repost a valuable LinkedIn post, like a post from Twitter, or comment on an Instagram photo right within the same spot.
Besides further improvements to Publer, 2024 will be the year we will diversify our offering.
We have already started working on a standalone link in the bio tool, and the next potential candidate will be a URL shortener.
I will personally focus mainly on the much-anticipated unified inbox that was put on hold for a while now.
Being part of social media, customer support, marketing, and sales for Publer these past ten years has helped me have a clearer vision for Kibo. I already know your pain points.
Even though Kibo, link in bio, and URL shortener will work as standalone products, we will integrate them within Publer.

None of the above would have been possible without you.
Warmest wishes, and see you next year.
